Do I need a big ERP system or will a smaller one do?
by Warren Martin, Founder on July 20th, 2013

Do you ask this question?

Many companies, small and large, do ask themselves this question and in my opinion, many times end up with the wrong answer.

An ERP system is a tool used to enable your business to meet your own internal process needs as well as satisfy your customers’ requirements.

When making your decision on an ERP system, don’t buy the new multi-million dollar system when upgrading your existing system for much less money will do the job. Why, because that extra money can be put to better use.

I believe that in the globally competitive business environment that you find yourself in today, that extra money is better spent on the Innovation of new products that provide differentiation. In addition, this capital can be better spent on optimizing factories in locations where you are selling to improve velocity. Innovation and velocity win in today’s world.

ERP systems are enabling tools that provide information and processes to assist management in running the business on a day-to-day basis.
